The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit said the explosion appeared to be
"intentional."
WASHINGTON — Authorities are investigating an explosion at a Harvard University
medical building on Saturday.
The blast happened inside the Goldenson Building on the Ivy League university's
campus at around 2:48 a.m. on Saturday, according to Harvard University Police
Department. No injuries were reported.
Authorities responded to a fire alarm activation and saw two "unidentified"
individuals fleeing from the building. According to university police, an
officer tried to stop the individuals before heading to the fourth floor, where
the alarm had been triggered.
Police released grainy photos of two people wearing face coverings and what
appeared to be sweatshirts.
The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit assessed that the explosion appeared to be
intentional and that no other explosive devices were found.
